CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

 Hello everyone! Hoping you are well 

This time I will write to you regarding the changes I would make to my program of study.

My curriculum lasts 6 years, and I have approximately 5 courses per semester, many of them yearly. The truth is that there are certain branches that I would remove from the curriculum, since I consider that they are not necessary enough to be mandatory, rather I would leave them as elective, an example of this is the branch OBE (evidence-based dentistry).

Regarding the years, I would not modify them, but I would have more control over the academic load we have, because many times it is too much and it is very demanding. Many times I am very frustrated, because I want to go out or do fun things and I can't because every week I have evaluations in which I have to study hard to get good grades. 

My school is in the commune of Independencia, and regarding the infrastructure it has, I wouldn't change much, but I would like more elevators, because in the administrative building there is only one and it takes too long to get there. 

I would like that the preclinical classrooms have a little more technology, that they teach us what currently exists in the world of dentistry, I know people who study in private universities, and yes they work with much more technology compared to us, they have more programs, and the instruments they use are more advanced. 

I would not modify the teaching methods used 100%, but I would have a little more supervision, because many of my professors are not very pedagogical, they only have incredible research and are very intelligent in their areas, but as a teacher they are not what you expect.

    the elevator takes too long to arrive, so I prefer the stairs.

    You are right, I think that technology would not help us to get closer to the reality of the clinic.

    Hi Antonia!!! I agree with you, mainly in improving the preclinical rooms, since the equipment is too old.

 The dream job I had when I was little was to be a dentist or "Tooth Doctor" as I used to call it. Honestly I had no other options but dentistry, at some point I considered nursing but I was never really convinced. As long as I can remember I always wanted to study dentistry, I had no other options and I was very worried because if I was not selected in this university I didn't know what else to do. So far, my experience at the university has been quite stressful and difficult. You have to study a lot, because dentistry is very demanding, I really like the career, but you have to dedicate a lot of time and be very disciplined. The career is very fun and it is very practical, which is what I like the most. A country you would like to visit

 I would like to go to Venezuela, because my boyfriend is from there and I find everything they say very interesting and beautiful.  I know it has one of the most beautiful and biggest beaches and waterfalls in the world. It has all kinds of weather, it´s very green. When you walk down the street mangoes fall from the trees and you can see different tropical birds. I would like to go to the biggest waterfall in the world (which is the inspiration for the movie UP, by Disney) and I would also love to go to Isla Margarita, I have seen videos and I know it's beautiful.  Aside from the above mentioned, I would love to get to know my boyfriend's house, his school and his friends. I would not like to work or study there at least at this time, because it is very dangerous, they have too much economic instability, and also have shortages of some foods.  Isla margarita  Santo Ángel
